Ravens Starting CB Out for the Season

The Baltimore Ravens have lost their starting cornerback, Domonique Foxworth, for the 2010 season with a torn ACL.  Foxworth suffered the injury in practice on Thursday.  The Ravens are now looking to backups Chris Carr, Lardarius Webb (rehabbing a knee surgery) and Cary Williams.  Their opposite starting corner, Fabian Washington, is also rehabbing from knee surgery.

Analysis:  Huge blow for the Ravens defense that will already be without safety Ed Reed for at least the first six games.  Chris Carr started four games in 2009, appearing in all 16, with 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles and a career-high 38 tackles.  The Ravens simply cannot afford another injury, especially in their secondary.

I think the Ravens will go out and sign a free agent cornerback, potentially a veteran to a one or two year deal... Ty Law? Shawn Springs? Fred Smoot? DeShea Townsend?

Update:  The Ravens traded a conditional 2011 draft pick to the Seahawks for CB Josh Wilson.  They had to make a move.
