NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has suspended Tom Lewand 30 days for violating the personal conduct policy of the NFL. He is also being fined $100,000 for a DWI. Lewand was pulled over and his BAC was .21 percent.
The 3-4 Take: It is nice to see that not only the players are held responsible for their actions. The management positions of a team are for leaders and they should be held accountable not only by the league but within the organization. It is disappointing to see the team PRESIDENT doing careless things, especially when he is preaching off the field behavior to the players. Lewand needs to show a better example...turning around an NFL organization takes strong leadership at the top. I imagine he will stay out of trouble in the future, but if he doesn't, look for the Lions to move on without him.
